Business travel insurance

When does the insurance apply?

The insurance is valid for business trips. A business trip is a journey or assignment performed on behalf of the employer, in order to carry out tasks in relation to the employment/assignment.

The business trip can be started either from the home or the workplace. The business trip ends when you return to one of these sites. Only direct travel to/from these locations is covered by the insurance. Travel between work and home does not constitute a business trip.

The insurance is valid for trips lasting up to one year. It also applies for 14 days’ holiday in connection with a business trip abroad.

What does the insurance cover?

Where does the insurance apply?

The insurance is valid in the whole world, except those countries or areas to which the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel.

Who is covered by the insurance?

The insurance covers employees undertaking an assignment abroad, as well as accompanying family members. A health declaration must be completed and signed by the person to be insured; this also applies to family members. Please note that if a child is born during the insurance period, a health declaration must be completed and sent to If immediately after the birth.

When does the insurance apply?

The insurance is valid 24 hours a day while the person is covered by the policy.

Where does the insurance apply?

The insurance applies in the country in which the employee is stationed. You must inform If of any change to the country of stationing. The policy also applies for travel outside the country of stationing to anywhere in the world, except those countries or areas to which the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel.
